1.1) Grasp knob on car stereo. | ||
![]() |
2.1) Pull to remove. | ||
![]() |
3.1) From back of car stereo at front face, remove one screw on side of car stereo. | ||

4.1) From back of car stereo at front face, remove one lower screw on side of car stereo. | ||
![]() |
5.1) From back of car stereo at front face, remove one upper screw on side of car stereo. | ||
![]() |
6.1) At back of car stereo remove screw securing top cover. | ||
![]() |
7.1) At back of car stereo remove screw securing top cover. | ||
![]() |
8.1) At back top of car stereo remove screw securing top cover. | ||
![]() |
9.1) Gently pry corners and around edges of cover to release. | ||
![]() |
10.1) Remove cover and set to side. | ||
![]() |
11.1) CD mechanism needs to be removed. 11.2) Remove screw along back edge of CD mechanism. |

12.1) Remove second screw along back edge of CD mechanism. | ||
![]() |
13.1) Remove one screw through opening along front edge of CD mechanism. | ||

14.1) Remove second screw through opening along front edge of CD mechanism. | ||

15.1) Gently pry CD mechanims up out of car stereo and set to side. | ||
![]() |
16.1) At side of CD slot on car stereo remove screw securing face plate. | ||
![]() |
17.1) On main circuit board toward front of car stereo, locate ribbon cable at connector. This connector has two tabs, one at each side of connector. NOTE - Use caution, ribbon cable can be ripped. |

18.1) Slide tab at one side away from connector to stop, approximatley 1/8 inch. | ||

19.1) Locate tab at opposite side of connector. | ||
![]() |
20.1) Slide tab at opposite side of connector to stop, approximatley 1/8 inch. 20.2) The above two steps and this step may need to be repeated to fully release ribbon cable. |

21.1) Remove ribbon cable from connector. | ||

22.1) Locking tabs securing front face plate to metal bracket on front of car stereo. 22.2) Release tab on face plate at opening on metal bracket. |

23.1) Work along edge of metal bracket releasing tabs. | ||

24.1) Work along edge of metal bracket releasing tabs. | ||

25.1) Work along edge of metal bracket releasing tabs. | ||

26.1) Work along edge of metal bracket releasing tabs. |

27.1) Work along edge of metal bracket releasing tabs. NOTE - Steps to may need to be repeated to release all tabs, tabs tend to lock back into place. |

28.1) Pull front face plate gently from mounting bracket. 28.2) Locate connector on back of face plate, pull to release. |

29.1) Guide ribbon cable through opening on metal bracket and remove face plate. | ||

30.1) Remove on/off volume control. | ||
![]() |
31.1) On/off volume control mounts to face plate with two screws. The plastic anchors that secure the screws on the face plate crack and break. 31.2) Determine mounting position of on/off volume control on face plate. 31.3) Use three to five minute epoxy to glue screws to remaining anchors. 31.4) Allow epoxy to dry and reassemble car stereo. |
