How to Remove and Install Car Stereo

Replacing Radio, Removal and Install 1.1) Open glove box and remove contents.
How to Remove Car Stereo Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Replace and Install 2.1) Left side of glove box, push side restraint string down while lifting edge of glove box up to release restraint through opening.
Replacing Radio, Removal and Install 3.1) Right side of glove box, gently pry side restraint pin from side of glove box.
How to Remove Car Stereo Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Replace and Install 4.1) Remove restraint pin and allow glove box to open down toward floor.
Replacing Radio, Removal and Install 5.1) Remove one exposed screw left side of glove box opening.

Replacing Radio, Removal and Install 7.1) Remove one exposed screw side of dash at fuse box opening.

12.2) Remove panel and set to side.

Replacing Radio, Removal and Install 14.1) Gently pry left side of front dash panel below steering column from dash releasing clip. All clips release with pressure.

Replacing Radio, Removal and Install 16.1) Locate connector on back of panel.

Replacing Radio, Removal and Install 18.1) Adjust steering wheel to lowest position.

Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement

Monte Carlo How to Front Door Speaker and Tweeter Removal

Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 1.1) Roll window down.
1.2) Remove one screw from door open handle assembly.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 2.1) Remove one screw below arm rest.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 3.1) Remove second screw below arm rest.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 4.1) Pry front edge of door open handle assembly from door panel releasing clips.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 5.1) Pull front edge of door open handle assembly away from door panel to release further clips.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 6.1) Door open handle assembly my hang up at this point.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 7.1) Look behind edge of panel at clip, a small flat head screw driver may be needed to lift and release this clip.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 8.1) Remove door handle assembly over door open handle.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 9.1) At back of door handle assembly at door lock switch, gently pry edge of frame around switch assembly away from switch.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 10.1) Push on front of switch while prying edge of frame from switch.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 11.1) This will keep switch from locking back into frame.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 12.1) While pushing switch, pry opposite side of frame from switch.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 13.1) Release switch from door handle assembly.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 14.1) At door lock switch, locate trigger on connector.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 15.1) Squeeze trigger into connector to release.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 16.1) Place door lock switch back into frame on door handle assembly ready for reinstallation.

Note - Door lock switch was removed because the release trigger on the connector was not accessible. During reinstallation, the connector can be reinstalled and locked into place.

Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 17.1) Remove door handle assembly with switch and set to side.

Note - When reinstalling door panel, be sure to route the blue connector for the door handle assembly back to the opening.

Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 18.1) Remove one screw at leading top edge of triangular portion of door panel.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 19.1) Pry back bottom edge of door panel from door releasing clips.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 20.1) With first clips released, grasp bottom of door panel and pull to release remaining clips along bottom edge of door panel.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 21.1) Work to front of door panel releasing clips.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 22.1) Work up front and rear edges of door panel releasing clips.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 23.1) Pull bottom of door panel away from door verifying all clips have been released.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 24.1) Lift rear edge of door panel up out of window jam followed by front edge of door panel.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 25.1) Pull top edge of door panel back for access to back of door panel.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 26.1) Locate wire bundle to control panel on door panel.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 27.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect and remove.
27.2) Remove door panel and set to side.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 28.1) Check door for any remaining door panel clips.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 29.1) Pry clips from door to remove.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 30.1) Place door panel clips into slots on door panel ready for reinstallation.
Removing Speakers, Install and Replace 31.1) Remove screws securing speaker to speaker panel and remove.
Installing Speakers, Removal and Replacement 32.1) Or, remove screws securing speaker panel to door and remove.

How to Remove and Replace Amplifier

Amplifier is located in trunk along bottom of rear deck.

Installing Amplifier, Remove and Replace 1.1) Located amplifier lock mounting. Passenger side of amplifier has connectors..
Removing Amplifier, Replace and Install 2.1) Push lock toward center of amplifier to release lock.
Installing Amplifier, Remove and Replace 3.1) Locate second amplifier lock mounting.
Removing Amplifier, Replace and Install 4.1) Push lock toward center of amplifier to release lock. End of amplifier will drop from rear deck.
Installing Amplifier, Remove and Replace 5.1) At opposite end of amplifier, release same two locks. Entire amplifier will drop from rear deck.
Removing Amplifier, Replace and Install 6.1) Locate connector with blue lock tab.
Installing Amplifier, Remove and Replace 7.1) Squeeze tab toward center of connector, end of tab will lift, remove connector.
Removing Amplifier, Replace and Install 8.1) Second connector, squeeze tab down to release from upper lock, remove connector.
Installing Amplifier, Remove and Replace 9.1) Remove amplifier.
   
Rear Speaker Removal and Installation presently not available.
