Car Stereo Installation
Needed Accessories from Metra

Kit 99-3300
Wire Harness 70-1858
Antenna Adaptor 40-GM10

There are other kits from Metra and other manufacturers for these accessories. We prefer this Metra kit. The finished look keeps the installed car stereo flush with the dash. Other kits may have the face of the stereo extend out of the dash up to two inches. This is type of installation kit is begging for the stereo to be stolen.
S10 Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 1.1) Splice Metra wire harness to wire harness supplied with aftermarket stereo. In most cases, these wires should match color for color. (Note - Negative speaker wires have a black stripe, it is important to mate wires correctly. Incorrectly wired speakers cause for loss of bass, out of phase speaker.)

DO NOT CUT FACTORY WIRE HARNESS

Aftermarket stereo installation? Why purchase the aftermarket wire harness? Installation is easier, no guess work with wire color codes and a Headache Saver! Factory wire colors codes are not universal. See Aftermarket Videos above.
We discourage cutting the factory wire harness.
This section aids in troubleshooting and determining wire color codes, phasing for speaker hook up, locating power wires for installing external devices and add-ons.
