Ford Mustang Front Door Panel Speaker Removal and Replacement

Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 1.1) Gently pry and lift insert control panel from door panel.

2.1) Remove screws securing connector to control panel.

3.1) Release trigger on second connector and remove connector.

Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 4.1) Remove exposed screws from insert panel cavity.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 5.1) Reach through control panel cavity to release door handle insert panel and remove from handle.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 6.1) Remove screw from front of door panel.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 7.1) The door panel is held on by hooks, these hooks go into the door.
7.2) Lift door panel straight up out of window jam and over door lock to release hooks, remove door panel.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 8.1) Remove screws securing speaker to door.
8.2) Release trigger at connector and disconnect connector. This is a 5 X 7 inch speaker.

NOTE - for determining aftermarket installation polarity of speaker for correct hook up see Speaker Phasing above.

Ford Mustang Rear Side Panel Speaker Removal and Installation

Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing

DO NOT
Pry Rear Speaker Cover from Side Panel this will result in a broken speaker grill cover.

How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 1.1) Lift rear bottom seat cushion up from center of passenger side leading edge, releasing clip. Clip releases with upward pressure.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 2.1) Lift rear bottom seat cushion up from center of driver side leading edge, releasing clip.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 3.1) Lift leading edge of bottom seat cushion up, release seat belts through seat.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 4.1) Remove bottom seat cushion from car and set to side.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 5.1) At bottom of passenger side rear seat back corner, remove one bolt.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 6.1) At bottom of driver side rear seat back corner, remove one bolt.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 7.1) Lift rear seat back cushion straight up. This will release two hooks from slots, one on each side of seat.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 8.1) Pull outside top edges of rear seat back forward, push rear seat back down to release center hook.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 9.1) Remove rear seat back cushion from car and set to side.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 10.1) Access to rear amplifiers, located each side of hydraulic pump for convertible roof.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 11.1) Open both doors, gently cry cover from door jam.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 12.1) Release cover from door jam.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 13.1) Check door jam for any remaining clips not removed with panel.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 14.1) Gently pry clip from door jam to remove.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 15.1) Place clip back onto door jam panel, ready for reinstallation.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 16.1) At bottom edge of side panel, below lower speaker grill, pry panel pin up to remove.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 17.1) Along back lower edge of side panel, pry behind panel at clip to release clip.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 18.1) Along back upper edge of side panel, pry behind panel at clip to release clip.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 19.1) At back edge of side panel, along opening for convertible roof, gently pry panel clip to remove.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 20.1) At leading edge of side panel in door jam, pry behind rubber panel to release two clips.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 21.1) Pull side rubber panel back when removing side panel to keep clips from resetting in side panel.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 22.1) Remove seat belt from mount on front seat.
22.2) Move front seat forward along with seat back for better access to rear seat.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 23.1) Gently pull upper edge of side panel from side of car to release.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 24.1) Pull side panel forward to release clips and lip on panel from door jam.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 25.1) Pull seat belt strap from mechanism for excess.
Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 26.1) Lay side panel to back seat.
How to Replace Speakers, Remove and Install 27.1) Remove screws securing speaker to side speaker enclosure.

NOTE - for determining aftermarket installation polarity of speaker for correct hook up see Speaker Phasing above.

Replacing Speakers, Removing and Installing 28.1) When reinstalling side panel, small lip on side of panel fits into groove below side weather stripping.
