How to Remove, Replace and Install Stereos 1.1) Open pocket at bottom of front dash.
Hyundai Sonata Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install 2.1) Pry edge of front dash trim panel surrounding car stereo and AC controls releasing clips. All clips release with pry pressure.

17.2) Locate connector for Hazard Button.

Hyundai Stereo Repair Ghost or Missing Segments

1.1) With car stereo removed from vehicle, remove four mounting screws securing mounting bracket to right side of car stereo.

Note - Label mounting brackets "L" and "R" for left and right.

2.1) Remove four mounting screws securing mounting bracket to left side of car stereo.
3.1) Remove four screws securing top cover to car stereo.

4.1) Remove top cover.

Note - Top cover had two tabs along front edge that mate to slots on front face.

5.1) At right side of car stereo, using a flat head screw driver, gently lift locking tab to release edge of face plate from car stereo.
6.1) Before moving to second tab, apply pressure to face plate, pulling face plate away from car stereo. This will keep first tab from locking back into place.
7.1) Lift second tab on face plate to release from car stereo.
8.1) Along bottom of car stereo, lift edge of face plate to release first tab from car stereo, continue to apply pressure to face plate to keep tabs from locking back into place.
9.1) Release second tab along bottom of car stereo.
10.1) In most cases, at this point the face plate will release from car stereo.
11.1) Or, you may continue to release tabs on left side of car stereo to remove face plate.
12.1) Remove face plate, set car stereo to side.
13.1) Turn face plate over, visually inspect row of solder connections along top of cassette door. You will see poor solder and circles around pins causing bad connections.
14.1) Solder entire row of connections.
15.1) After soldering, check for solder bridges and missed connections.
16.1) Face plate pushes straight onto car stereo and locks into place, repair complete.
