Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install

Lexus ES300 Car Stereo Removal

Replacing, Removing and Installing Stereos 1.1) Gently lift back edge of center console insert.
Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install 2.1) Lift up from gear shift island. Be careful of rubber gasket, caution when reinstalling this panel.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Stereos 3.1) Set parking brake, ignition key on and shift to lower gear.
3.2) Remove front edge of panel from under AC control and lift over gear shift.
Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install 4.1) Release trigger on connector and set panel to side.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Stereos 5.1) Pull AC control panel from dash releasing clips.
Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install 6.1) Release triggers on connectors and set AC control panel to side.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Stereos 7.1) Remove two lower bolts securing car stereo to dash.
Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install 8.1) Look closely, there is one more screws above the lower left screw securing car stereo to dash.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Stereos 9.1) Again, look closely, there is one more screws above the lower right screw securing car stereo to dash.
Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install 10.1) Push AC vents to down position, this allows for a finger hold.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Stereos 11.1) Pull car stereo and trim panel from dash.
Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install 12.1) Release triggers on connectors at top of trim panel.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Stereos 13.1) Remove antennas and release triggers on connectors at back of car stereo.
13.2) Remove car stereo and trim panel.
Lexus Stereo Removal, Replacement and Install NOTE - Before removing face plate from car stereo read note below.

14.1) Remove screws securing trim panel to car stereo.

   
Note - We do not care for this design. After reinstallation, some buttons on the face plate did not work or were intermittent. After trouble shooting and having the stereo in and out of the dash many time, we found it may take some time getting the bracket on the car stereo aligned properly so all functions work properly when in dash.
