Lexus LS 400 CD Changer Removal and Replacement

Lexus CD Changer Replacement, Removal and Install 1.1) Open side pocket and remove screw. 
Lexus CD Changer Replacement, Removal and Install 2.1) Pull edge of panel back to allow CD changer cover panel to clear and pull edge of bottom trunk carpet back.
2.2) Feed gas door open cable through panel when removing.
Lexus CD Changer Replacement, Removal and Install 3.1) Remove two 10mm bolts at top of CD changer.
Lexus CD Changer Replacement, Removal and Install 4.1) Remove two 10mm bolts below CD changer.
4.2) Disconnect connectors and remove changer.
Lexus CD Changer Replacement, Removal and Install 5.1) Remove screws securing amplifier.
5.2) Release triggers on connectors to disconnect.

Lexus LS400 Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install

Lexus LS400 Front Door Panel Removal For Replacement of Factory Installed Speakers

Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 1.1) Remove one screw, pull top edge of plastic mounting tab forward then up to release bottom clip.
Lexus LS400 Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 2.1) Remove one screw from door panel AC duct.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 3.1) Remove four screws along bottom edge of door panel.
3.2) Remove one screw from door pull.
Lexus LS400 Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 4.1) Pry door panel control from back edge up.
4.2) Remove connectors from panel and set to side.

*NOTE - pry below black plastic not from top wood grain panel. The wood grain panel may separate from housing, it can be glued.

Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 5.1) Remove one exposed screw.
Lexus LS400 Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 6.1) Pry door handle trim down on bottom to release tab and up above door lock.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 7.1) Release six clips on door panel starting at bottom of panel.
7.2) Pull leading edge of door panel away from door so it clears above panel and lift door panel up out of window jam.
Lexus LS400 Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 8.1) Release connector to courtesy light and set panel to side.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 9.1) Remove four screws from enclosure trim securing speaker.
Lexus LS400 Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install *NOTE - The tricky part! An aftermarket 4" speaker does not fit enclosure cavity properly. From the box the speakers were purchased in, cut a gasket to fit.
*NOTE - You may have to cut a notch in the one corner of a speaker screw mounting to allow a small notch on the surface of the speaker enclosure to mate to the speaker trim ring cover.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 10.1) Mount new speaker.

*NOTE - We have found that a two way speaker sounds better than the original. The factory speaker is not available alone. To purchase the entire enclosure with speaker $240-350 per enclosure from dealership.

Lexus LS400 Rear Door Panel and Speaker Removal

Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 1.1) Remove plastic screw cover and remove exposed screw.

*NOTE - Be careful when removing and reinstalling door panel, Child Safety Lock switch is in a spot where it may be damaged. This picture has the control broken, we were not the first to remove this panel.

Lexus Speaker Replacement, Removal and Install 2.1) Pry door handle trim down on bottom to release tab and up above door lock.
Replacing, Removing and Installing Speakers 3.1) Remove ash tray and one exposed screw.

4.1) Pry door panel control from back edge up.
4.2) Remove connectors from panel and set to side.

*NOTE - pry below black plastic not from top wood grain panel. The wood grain panel may separate from housing, it can be glued.

7.2) Release six clips on door panel starting at bottom of panel.
7.3) Pull edge of door panel away from door so it clears above panel, Child Safety Lock and lift door panel up out of window jam.
