Mazda Navajo Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 1.1) Insert "Din tools" into holes on both sides of car radio.
1.2) Push tools slightly to the outside of the car stereo, this releases the lock mechanism, pushing them to the side of the car stereo.

3.1) Disconnect antenna and connectors from car stereo by releasing a trigger on connectors.

No Kit Needed - Single Din Opening

Mazda Navajo Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 1.1) Splice aftermarket car stereo wire harness to Metra wire harness, they match color for color. The Metra wire harness mates to the existing factory wire harness, plug and play.
Mazda Navajo Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 2.1) Release the locks from sides of car stereo mounting sleeve.
Mazda Navajo Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 3.1) Slide the mounting sleeve from the Car Stereo
Mazda Navajo Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 4.1) Slide mounting sleeve into original car stereo opening.
Mazda Navajo Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 5.1) Place mounting sleeve in to opening, pull origianl factory wire harnesses and antenna through opening. Mounting sleeve edge will mate to dash opening.
Mazda Navajo Car Stereo Replacement, Removal and Installation 6.1) With a flat head screw driver, bend tabs along inside edge of mounting sleeve to "Pinch Fit" to surrounding dash.

8.1) Connect previous sliced connectors to factory wire harness and car stereo. Plug antenna lead into car stereo and slide car stereo into mounting sleeve till it locks into place. Now install the amplifier bypass cable.

How to Remove and Replace Speakers with Installation 1.1) Remove three screws from door panel.
How to Remove and Replace Speakers with Installation 2.1) Unsnap trim panel from around door open handle.
How to Remove and Replace Speakers with Installation 3.1) Pry window and door lock control panel loose from small slot at bottom.

4.2) Lift door panel up out of window jam and over door lock pin.
4.3) Feed window and door lock panel through panel opening.

6.1) Pioneer supplies car stereo speaker leads for installation of their speakers.

How to Replace Speakers, Removing and Installing Speakers 8.1) Determine car stereo speaker polarity, (phase). It is important to wire the + and - of each speaker properly for best sound quality.
8.2) Strip ends of factory car stereo speaker wires.

Tech Tip
When securing speaker be sure to protect speaker in case you slip from mounting screw, this will save a puncture to the speaker.

Installing Amplifier Bypass Cable

   
Why Install Amplifier Bypass cable?
Factory Amplifier output power 25 - 35 watts per channel.
Aftermarket stereo output power 45 - 60 watts per channel.
Aftermarket 45 - 60 watts into factory amplifier will cause distortion above low volume settings and provide only 25 - 35 watts output. Bypass Amplifier for full power.
   
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 1.1) Remove all screws along bottom or rear hatch jam and remove panel.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 2.1) Remove screws along side panel.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 3.1) Gently pry panel pins from side panels.

NOTE - All panel pins that will be removed are old and brittle. Don't be upset when you crack or break these pins it is a common occurrence.

Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 4.1) Remove all panel pins up side of rear side panel.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 5.1) Remove all panel pins from bottom side rear window frame panel.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 6.1) Remove all panel pins from top side rear window frame panel.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 7.1) Pull back rubber boot over seat belt bolt, remove 50mm torx bolt.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 8.1) Remove screw in center of panel between rear and side window.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 9.1) Lift edge of carpet along back, remove hidden screw.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 10.1) Lift edge of carpet along wheel well, remove one hidden screw.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 11.1) Pull side panel back from side of vehicle. The factory amplifier sits above wheel well bolted to side of vehicle. Disconnect two connectors. One connector is plugged into the top of the amplifier, the other is plugged into the bottom of the amplifier as it is mounted to the side of the vehicle.
Replacing Factory Speakers, Removal and Installation 12.1) Use Amplifier Bypass cable, connectors mate and allow the car stereo audio system to pass without the use of the factory amplifier.
12.2) Tuck bypass cable behind side panel and reassemble side panel.
