Toyota Power Antenna Repair and Replacement

Removing and Installing Power Antenna

   
1.1) With Needle Nose Pliers, loosen nut at top of antenna and remove. *Be careful not to slip and scratch paint!
   
2.1) With help, have help turn car stereo on, pull antenna mast and cable from antenna to remove.
2.2) Measure NEW antenna mast against length of broken mast and cable. If lengths match, install cable into antenna opening and turn car stereo off to retract antenna mast. Replace mast nut.
2.3) If mast and cable do not match in length, please continue....
   
3.1) From trunk, gently pry panel pins from side panel.
   
4.1) Remove more panel pins.
4.2) Pull side panel from car and remove.
   
5.1) Remove two nuts securing antenna assembly.
   
6.1) Remove antenna assembly from fender cavity and disconnect connector.
   
7.1) Disconnect antenna connector at top of antenna assembly.
   
8.1) Remove antenna drain tube from bottom of antenna assembly.
   
9.1) Remove screws securing cover to antenna assembly and remove cover.
   
10.1) Lift and remove antenna cable housing.
   
11.1) Inspect cover for broken cable pieces along with entire antenna assembly, remove all debris, reassemble antenna assembly and reinstall.
11.2) Install cable into antenna opening and turn car stereo off to retract antenna mast. Replace mast nut.
