Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair

Toyota Celica Front Speaker Removal

Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 1.1) ROLL WINDOW DOWN.
1.2) Gently pry plastic insert from door handle cavity.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 2.1) Remove insert and set to side.

NOTE - this piece requires some pressure to snap back into place when reinstalling.

Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 3.1) Remove exposed screw from cavity.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 4.1) Gently pry two screw covers from leading edge of door panel.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 5.1) Remove two exposed screws after cover removal.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 6.1) Gently pry top edge of upper corner panel from door.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 7.1) Lift corner panel up to release bottom edge from door panel.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 8.1) Remove two screws along bottom edge of door panel.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 9.1) Remove one screw from cavity below arm rest.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 10.1) Gently pry back edge of door panel from door releasing clips.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 11.1) Work your way along bottom edge of door panel then up front and back edges.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 12.1) Lift back edge of door panel up out of window jam followed by front edge of door panel.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 13.1) From opposite side of door, with window down.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 14.1) Pull lower cable (White) from locked position and door handle assembly.
14.2) Turn cable to slot at end to release through opening.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 15.1) Pull upper cable (Black) from locked position and door handle assembly.
15.2) Turn cable to slot at end to release through opening.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 16.1) Two removed cable ends.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 17.1) Below door handle assembly, release trigger on connector to disconnect.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 18.1) Check door for any door panel clips not removed with door panel.
18.2) Pry door panel clips from door.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 19.1) Slide door panel clips back onto door panel, ready for reinstallation.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Repair 20.1) Remove one screw securing tweeter and mounting bracket to door.
20.2) Release trigger on connector to disconnect.
Replacing, Removing and Install Speaker 21.1) Release trigger on connector at speaker housing to disconnect.
21.2) There are modifications when reinstalling a new speaker.
21.3) Drill rivets from housing and build spacer plate for new speaker.
